This was a gift for my nephew Thomas at Christmas. It is made with fleece fabric and filled with bean bag beans. I made up the pattern by drawing free hand on paper, althought I did use a plate as a circle for the eye. I used fabric adhesive spray to attach the appliqué and sewed it on with satin stitch. I used an overlocker to secure the side seams. The most fidly bit was getting the beans in without dropping them on the floor. A fun little project!

This quilt is based on the window pane 9 patch quilt tutorial by Missouri quilt company, the tutorial for this can be found on you tube along with a load of other helpful tutorials. I used a moda charm pack called serenade as well as half a meter of cream (to separate the charm squares) and 1.5 meters of a duck egg blue/green (to back and bind) fabric from moda solids and half a meter of one of the fabrics from the serenade collection to frame the quilt.
Here is a close up of my version of vermicelli from the back of the quilt...
I have been very busy crafting over Christmas. I also made some Pom Pom snowmen ...
And a Christmas wreath for mum made from stuffed hearts. I have lots more projects for the new year!
I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and Happy new year for 2015!!
